1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 pinch kosher salt
6 tablespoons unsalted room temperature butter
8 ounces dark bittersweet chocolate, chopped
4 large eggs, at room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
1-1/4 cups (10 ounces) Guinness Extra Stout beer (see Note below)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Confectioners’ sugar for dusting
Preheat the oven to 375F. Butter and flour a 13 x 9 baking and set aside. In a medium bowl melt the butter and chocolate together in a microwave. Set aside. In a large bowl beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy, then add the cooled chocolate and stir to combine. Fold the flour mixture into the chocolate mixture until just combined. Then whisk in the beer. The batter will seem thin, but this is OK. Stir in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for about 30 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean. Allow the brownies to cool completely before dusting with confectioners’ sugar.
