Ingredients & Directions
Stir together in saucepan:
½ cup sugar
2 tablespoons corn syrup
2 tablespoons water
Cook, stirring, over medium heat until the mixture starts to boil.
Stop stirring and let boil until deep amber (10-15 minutes) Watch carefully!
Immediately remove from heat and stir in:
1 cup hot heavy cream (caramel will bubble up!)
1 tsp vanilla
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
¾ teaspoons kosher salt
To serve:
Place 2 T sauce in a pre-warmed mug
Add 1-½ ounces Irish whiskey
Fill with hot, strong coffee
Top with whipped cream and a dusting of fresh nutmeg
